Police reported on Saturday that a woman in Palghar district, Maharashtra, allegedly killed her two-and-a-half-year-old son before taking her own life. The tragic incident took place in Gadarwadi village, located in the tribal-dominated Jawhar taluka.

According to an official from Jawhar police station, the 23-year-old woman, Laxmi Bhamre, strangled her young son to death before committing suicide by hanging herself from a door in their home. The incident occurred around 3 pm while her husband and father-in-law were at the farm. The motive behind her drastic actions is still unclear, and an investigation is currently underway.
